Ontario Provincial Police have charged a New Tecumseth man in connection with an alleged sex assault dating back more than a dozen years ago.

In a news release on Wednesday, police said they began an investigation this month after a person reported a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in Beeton in 2010. At the time, police said the accused and alleged victim were living in the same residence.

The suspect has been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

He has a court date in Bradford on Sept. 26, 2024.
