Hockey Front and Centre at This Year’s Frozen in Time Festival
Collingwood Ice Sculpture Festival Celebrating Hometown Hockey
Canada’s game is taking over the Frozen in Time Festival.
Downtown Collingwood’s annual Ice Sculpture Celebration will this year see more than 25 sculptures celebrating the history of sport, lining the streets of town’s downtown starting Friday.
The weekend-long festivities this year include world-renowned ice sculptors producing some original works, along with the Battle of the Chainsaws. A family wagon ride will make it easier to see the whole show. Expect to see a 40-foot long double ice slide near Town Hall again this year.
Coinciding with this year’s festival is Rogers Hometown Hockey, taking place Saturday and Sunday. It will take over Hurontario Street as the Ice Festival continues.
The free hockey-themed weekend features games, prize giveaways, fun activities, and live local entertainment for the whole family, including:
- Rogers Fan Hub
- Sportsnet Virtual Photo Booth and Interactive Games
- The Hockey Circus Show
- Scotiabank Community Ball Hockey Rink
- Ram Haul of Fame
- Dr. Oetker Giuseppe Pizzeria
- Tim Hortons
- Playmobil Kids Zone
- Live Local Entertainment
- Parade of Champions
Details of this year’s festival and Hometown Hockey can be found on the Downtown Collingwood website.
