House fire in Barrie causes $350,000 damage

There were no injuries

A fire that started at the back of a home at 74 Patterson Road in Barrie on Saturday afternoon spread to the roof and caused extensive damage to the inside of the residence.

Deputy Fire Chief Carrie Clark told Barrie 360 it is a two-unit residence.

Clark said a tenant in the basement and the owners and several other tenants on the main floor were able to exit the home safely.

Clark said there were working smoke alarms.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Damage is approximately $350,000.
