Huntsville OPP seize explosives, drugs, knife at R.I.D.E. check

Suspect was on probation

Ontario Provincial Police got more than they bargained for at a R.I.D.E. check on Main Street in Huntsville.

Around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, police arrested a 26-year-old Scarborough man for possession of a controlled substance. Further investigation revealed he was on probation.

Police say they located a quantity of drugs, various break and enter tools, a knife, a baseball bat and an explosive device.

The suspect was charged with drug and weapons-related offences, and possessing explosives for an unlawful purpose.
