POWER
- Please do not call police for power updates...they need to keep their lines open for emergencies
- Alectra Outage in Barrie affecting approx 750 homes and businesses. Crews are still working to restore power. ETR remains TBD.
- InnPower Power has been restored to 225 customers on the south side of Sandy Cove. Crews are continuing to work to restore the remaining customers in that area. Crews will also continue to work in the Bear Creek area.
- Elexicon Most Gravenhurst customers were expected to have power restored by the end of day Monday. Remaining customers may be restored as late as end of day Friday.
- Lakeland Power Multiple widespread outages in Bracebridge affecting approx. 1382 homes and businesses in the Bracebridge area. Crews continue to clear safety concerns and restore power. The current ETR has been updated on our outage maps.
- Hydro One has informed the public that power outages in certain areas could last more than 24 hours, although power is being gradually restored in some parts of Orillia.
PARKS
- For your safety, please stay out of City of Barrie parks and refrain from cleaning up your property. Ice accumulation on large trees is making nearby areas very dangerous due to falling branches.

RELIEF CENTRES
The City of Barrie’s warming centre at the Allandale Recreation Centre, 190 Bayview Drive, remains operational to support residents in need during any power outages. This facility has heat and hydro and provides a safe, warm space for individuals who are experiencing cold temperatures or need shelter. Well-behaved pets are permitted. The warming centre will be open overnight tonight, Monday March 31.
The Relief Centre at the Orillia Recreation Centre (255 West St. S.) is being prepared to accommodate overnight stays in partnership with the County of Simcoe, should the need arise. Overnight guests must be registered inside the facility by 9pm.
Space is limited.
Bracebridge - The Bracebridge Sportsplex and Muskoka Lumber Community Centre are open for residents to visit for respite from continued power outages and to charge devices.

Springwater - Administration Centre (2231 Nursery Road) remains open to the public as an emergency warming and relief centre. Hours: 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM. Priority is given to those with medical needs. Service dogs are welcome. Bring your own chargers and reusable water bottles.
Tiny - has opened two warming centres
Wyebridge Community Centre, located at 8340 Highway 93 – the facility will be open today (March 31, 2025) from 4:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m., and will be open tomorrow (April 1, 2025) from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Township of Tiny Office, located at 130 Balm Beach Road West – the facility will be open today (March 31, 2025) until 4:30 p.m., and will be open tomorrow (April 1, 2025) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

GARBAGE COLLECTION
Garbage collection is running a day late in Barrie this week.
Garbage and recycling collection is suspended in Orillia for this week.
Residents can put their garbage and recycling materials out next week.
Waste collections in Simcoe County will continue where possible. If areas are missed due to debris or ongoing road closures on your designated collection day, residents are to leave carts curbside. Collection crews will attempt to collect those locations during the week, up to and including Friday
