A citizen alerted Barrie Police about a man they believed was asleep in a car at a plaza on Wellington Street West.
The car was oddly parked in a no-parking zone.
"Police arrived on scene a couple of minutes later and based upon observations that were made, determined that the male was impaired by drug," according to a police news release.
A 65-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with impaired and two counts of drug possession, fentanyl and cocaine.
The man was released from custody and has a court date in August.
