Impaired driving charges laid after vehicle slams into hydro box, tree in Barrie

A 46-year-old Barrie woman has been charged with impaired driving by drug after a car crashed into a hydro box and a tree in front of a Fox Run home.

Barrie police communications coordinator Peter Leon said this happened shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday.

The driver was not injured.

Along with the impaired driving offence, Leon said the woman was also charged with possession of cocaine.

The woman's car has been impounded for seven days and her driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days, according to Leon.

She has a court date later this month.
