An Innisfil driver is facing impaired charges after police say he was holding open liquor out of his window trying to "cheers" other drivers passing by.

Officers with the South Simcoe Police Service were called at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday for a possible impaired driver near Innisfil Beach Road and 20th Sideroad.

"The accused was first observed holding an open liquor can out of his window and was attempting to "cheers" the vehicles travelling near him," police wrote in a release on Thursday.
