South Simcoe Police (SSP) are giving a shout-out to the citizen who contacted them early Thursday to report a driver who was possibly sleeping in a car that was idling in the middle of an intersection on Innisfil Beach Road.
Officers located the vehicle and found the motorist in the driver's seat.
"Officers formed grounds to believe that the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed him under arrest," police said in a news release.
Police say they also found a large amount of suspected cocaine in the car.
A 40-year-old Barrie man was charged with impaired driving and possession of cocaine.
The accused driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle impounded.
He has a court date later this month.
