During a traffic stop on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at approximately 9:40 a.m. the South Simcoe Police Service placed a driver under arrest in Innisfil.
The officer detected an odour of alcohol coming from the vehicle while speaking with the driver. The officer also observed open cans in the back seat.
The driver, a 53-year-old Innisfil man, was under a driving suspension and was placed under arrest after a roadside alcohol-screening device test.
Following an investigation the man was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired - Excess Blood Alcohol, and Operation While Prohibited.
The vehicle was impounded for 45 days along with a 90 day licence suspension for the driver.
