Innisfil Beach Road closures: What you need to know

Plan ahead if you use Innisfil Beach Road or IBR to access Highway 400
Highway 400 is to be closed in both directions from 10 p.m. tonight (Aug 19) until 8 a.m. tomorrow (Aug 20) as work to remove and replace the Sunnidale Road bridge continues

News release - South Simcoe Police

The South Simcoe Police Service is making the public aware of two upcoming road closures that will impact traffic on Innisfil Beach Road and access to Highway 400.

Closure #1: The Town of Innisfil has received notification from the Ministry of Transportation regarding a short-term closure of the northbound ramp from Innisfil Beach Road to Highway 400. The ramp will be closed on Friday, June 23 at 10 p.m. until Monday, June 26 at 5 a.m. to complete the ramp realignment.

Closure #2: A FULL CLOSURE of Innisfil Beach Road from the 5th Sideroad to the 10th Sideroad is scheduled for July 4 – July 26 (three weeks). The full closure means that it will not be possible to drive under Highway 400 on Innisfil Beach Road at all during this three week period. Traffic will need to detour to other roads to get across the 400 (e.g., 6th Line). Access to the 400 itself will be possible from Highway 89, or Mapleview.

Police are urging motorists to note the following road closures and plan accordingly. Give yourself extra time to reach your destination, exercise patience and follow the detour signs during this period of time. Officers will be in the area to ensure drivers navigate the closures safely.
