Man arrested twice following separate incidents hours apart: SSP

South Simcoe police arrested and charged a man twice following separate incidents that occurred less than six hours apart in Bradford and Innisfil.

On Sunday, December 24, around 11:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle in the area of Holland Street West and Collings Avenue in Bradford. A suspect was arrested nearby.

A 26-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with:

  • Trespass at Night
  • Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle
  • Probation Order Non-compliance

He was released with a future court date.

Then on Monday, December 25, around 4:30 a.m., police were notified of a vehicle being driven erratically near Yonge Street and Innisfil Beach Road in Innisfil.

The driver was stopped and police say it was determined the vehicle was stolen. The driver was arrested.

The same man from the previous incident was charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Operation While Impaired
  • Motor Vehicle Theft
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possession of (suspected) Cocaine
  • Probation Order Non-compliance

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
