Driver sent to Toronto hospital after crash in Innisfil

A two-vehicle crash in Innisfil on Monday afternoon sent a driver to a Toronto hospital.

The South Simcoe Police Service responded to Yonge Street and 7th Line around 5:30 p.m.

"Police determined that a vehicle was travelling northbound on Yonge Street and collided with a second vehicle that was travelling westbound on 7th Line," officers stated in a release.

They say one driver was extricated by firefighters and sent to hospital with "severe, but not life-threatening injuries."

Then at 11:30 p.m., according to police, the driver's injuries had been upgraded and they were transported to a Toronto hospital.

Officers are investigating the collision.
