News release - InnPower

InnPower and InnTerprises have partnered with the County of Simcoe and the Town of Innisfil to successfully install and activate 10 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at five sites across the community.

This project was supported through the Natural Resources Canada Zero Emissions Vehicle Infrastructure Program (NRCAN ZEVIP).

“We would like to thank our partners, the County of Simcoe and the Town of Innisfil and NRCAN for the ZEVIP program for enabling us to install EV chargers throughout the Town,” said Glen McAllister, Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer, InnTerprises Inc. & InnPower Corporation.

These charging stations aim to expand accessibility and convenience for residents embracing electric mobility. The charging stations have been strategically placed at key community hubs:

  • Innisfil ideaLAB & Library, Cookstown Branch (20 Church St, Cookstown, ON L0L 1L0)
  • Innisfil ideaLAB & Library, Lakeshore Branch (967 Innisfil Beach Rd, Innisfil, ON L9S 1V3)
  • Rizzardo Health & Wellness Centre (7325 Yonge St, Innisfil, ON L9S 2M6)
  • Innisfil Beach Park (676 Innisfil Beach Rd, Innisfil, ON L9S 4H6)
  • Friday Harbour (3999 Friday Dr, Innisfil, ON L9S 0J7)

Each charging station is equipped with standard level 2 charging ports, ideal for quick ‘opportunity’ top-ups while exploring the community. Users can easily locate these chargers via the FLO EV app or conveniently pay by card directly at the stations.

This initiative underscores our dedication to environmental stewardship."

Innisfil Mayor, Lynn Dollin, added, "Increasing the number of EV charging stations in Innisfil aligns with our vision for a greener, more sustainable municipality."

Speaking on this collaborative initiative, Erin Scuccimarri, CEO of the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library, remarked, "As a community hub we see the changes in the community… and are pleased to offer EV charging stations at two of our Library branches to help support our community's evolving needs."

This initiative supports the municipality's dedication to environmental sustainability and promotes electric vehicles as a viable and eco-friendly transportation option. Residents and visitors are encouraged to explore the expanding network of EV charging stations across the Town and beyond.

InnTerprises has installed 15 additional charging stations at Friday Harbour Resort and has plans to install more across Innisfil.
