Innisfil man charged as OPP seize handgun, drugs and cash

Ontario Provincial Police have charged an Innisfil man following an investigation that began in November in which police say they became aware of a person with ties to the Greater Toronto Area who was believed to be trafficking drugs.

On Thursday, a search warrant was executed at a location in Innisfil.

A 20-year-old has been charged with:

  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with ammo
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

As a result of the investigation, the following property was seized:

  • Glock 43 9mm Handgun with a six round 9mm magazine and ammunition
  • $23,000 Canadian Currency

Police note the accused was on a weapons prohibition at the time of the arrest

He has been held for bail.
