Innisfil Man Busted For Meth Possession After Running from RIDE Spot Check

Police Say He Also Had Pot On Hand While Driving

A dozen charges laid after a foot chase from a RIDE stop.

South Simcoe Police say a vehicle approached a spot check at County Rd 4 and the 10th Sideroad, while police claim they could smell pot on the driver. Police say they tried to arrest the 29-year-old man but he took off on foot.

He was cuffed not 150 metres away from the RIDE check however, and now faces twelve criminal charges. Officers say the suspect not only had pot too close at-hand for a driver, but was also in possession of crack cocaine, meth, heroin, and suspected fentanyl.
