A 25-year-old Innisfil man has been arrested by South Simcoe Police in connection with a murder and attempted murder nearly two years ago in Surrey, British Columbia.
On Tuesday, police said they were contacted by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) in Surrey regarding a murder suspect believed to be in Innisfil.
Investigators located the suspect in a vehicle.
He was later arrested without incident in Richmond Hill.
The man will be returned to B.C. to face one charge each of first-degree murder and attempted murder.
Surrey RCMP have said that on Feb. 8 , 2022, a 24-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were located inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.
The woman survived the shooting, but the male later died of his injuries in hospital.
