The Town of Innisfil’s ‘Scrooge the Ticket’ campaign is back for its tenth year to turn parking fines into community support.
From November 11 to 25, anyone who receives an Innisfil parking ticket can donate money, new children’s toys, or non-perishable food items to charity instead of paying their fine.
The campaign aims to create a positive impact during the holiday season by encouraging residents to embrace the spirit of giving and helping those in need.
Monetary donations collected through eligible tickets paid online will be split evenly between the Innisfil Food Bank and the Troy Scott Community Fridges. The Innisfil Food Bank will also receive all donated items for distribution to families by the Innisfil Community Church.

“Over the past decade, our Scrooge the Ticket campaign has collected more than $33,000 in toys, cash and food to help neighbours and families in need,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin.
“Every parking ticket paid through a donation helps transform what could have been an inconvenience into a way to uplift others in our community as the holiday season approaches.”
Participants who choose to contribute their penalty amount to the campaign can pay through the Town’s online system at eservices.innisfil.ca/ParkingTicket. Alternatively, those donating items are asked to bring them to Innisfil Town Hall (2101 Innisfil Beach Road) no later than Monday, November 25. Donated items must be equal to or greater in value than the penalty amount, and a receipt of purchase for the item(s) must be presented.
Town Hall is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
