Elderly Woman Charged With Drunk Driving

An elderly woman is facing a Drunk Driving charges after a tip from the public.

South Simcoe Police were contacted around 5:00 Wednesday afternoon about a possible impaired driver in the area of Jans Blvd. and Innisfil Beach Road. A suspect vehicle was stopped, where police say the driver, a 73-year-old Innisfil woman, was placed under arrest.

Breath test at the police station showed levels twice the legal limit, resulting in Impaired Driving charges being laid.

Meanwhile, South Simcoe Police say a 34-year-old Lefroy man had his licence and vehicle taken for a week after a Stunt Driving charge was laid. Police say he was clocked at 157km/h in an 80 zone along 10th Sideroad around 2:00 Thursday afternoon.
