The South Simcoe Police Service has charged an Innisfil woman after an online retailer says it was defrauded by someone posing as multiple customers.

Police say the investigation began in early June when an online retail store selling health and wellness products contacted them.

"The company said three orders believed to be fraudulent were from a suspect using three different names," officers said in a release.

"In each case, the 'customers' claimed they were notified of delivery, but said their packages never arrived. The suspect used forged documents to convince the company the claims were legitimate and was 'refunded' several thousand dollars."

A 35-year-old was charged with 3 counts of fraud, 2 counts of making forged documents, and two counts of using forged documents.

She was released with a future court date.
