Jay Leno has filed for a conservatorship of his wife's estate following her dementia diagnosis.
According to court documents obtained by sources, Mavis Leno has been "progressively losing capacity and orientation to space and time for several years" and is incapable of executing her own estate.
The court documents state Leno has initiated the conservatorship to set up a living trust for Mavis to ensure that she has "managed assets" to provide her with future care if he dies.
Leno wants to ensure her estate plan is correctly executed because she "presently lacks the necessary capacity."
The couple has been married for 43 years and has no children.
