Barrie police are investigating after a Jeep was stolen from a parking lot while the out-of-town owner was at an appointment.

Officers were notified Monday afternoon about the theft from a Quarry Ridge Road parking lot.

"Police have determined that a 2016 Jeep Cherokee, with Ontario licence plate CSFM895, was stolen between 1:10 and 2:15 pm.," officials stated on Tuesday.

"The navy blue coloured Jeep had been locked and the owner was still in possession of both the primary and spare keys."

According to police, the Jeep also contained a brand-new 2200-watt generator, some personal property, and purchased items including dog food and butane fuel cells.

Contact Barrie police at 705-725-7025, extension 2763, if you have any information regarding the theft. Or if you want to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
