Just over 200 new cases of COVID-19 announced province-wide, lowest number since late March

Province far exceeded its daily testing target

The last time Public Health Ontario confirmed a number this low, the pandemic hadn’t fully set in yet.

Health officials are confirming just 203 new cases of COVID-19 today, the lowest number of additions to the provincial caseload since March 27.

This comes as Public Health announces another 505 people who have recovered from COVID-19 since yesterday’s update. However, officials confirm another 12 people lost their lives overnight.

Over 24,000 tests were run in one day to get these results, well over the province’s daily target. There were over 16,000 in backlog.
