
Southern Georgian Bay OPP has charged two after an alleged assault win a weapon in Midland on Wednesday evening.
Police say they responded to an apartment complex near King Street and Robert Street around 6 p.m., following a report of an assault involving a weapon
Officers were able to contain the building when they arrived and quickly located a suspect inside the complex. The person was taken into custody, and a knife and pellet gun were seized.
Two victims were found with injuries at the scene. Police said one was taken to hospital for treatment, while the other was treated for injuries described as non-life threatening.
During the on-scene investigation that was assisted by the OPP Forensic Identification Unit, police did not release any other details about the accused, but said there is no threat to public safety.
A 43-year-old from Midland was eventually arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose, failure to comply with a release order, uttering threats, and five counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance.
Additionally, a 32-year-old woman from Midland was arrested and charged with breaking and entering with intent, and possession of a schedule 1 substance.
Police say both were held for a bail hearing.
