Knife, pellet gun seized after assault leaves two injured in Midland

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating an assault in Midland that allegedly happened at a residential apartment complex.

Police said they responded to the complex near King Street and Robert Street around 6 p.m. Wednesday, following a report of an assault involving a weapon.

Officers were able to contain the building when they arrived and quickly located a suspect inside the complex. The person was taken into custody, and a knife and pellet gun were seized.

Two victims were found with injuries at the scene. Police said one was taken to hospital for treatment, while the other was treated for injuries described as non-life threatening.

Police did not release any other details about the accused, but said there is no threat to public safety, and the investigation is ongoing with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Unit.
