Lady Gaga will play Harley Quinn in up upcoming “Joker” sequel, “Joker: Folie à Deux.” starring opposite Joaquin Phoenix.
The actress and singer posted the news on social media, set to the background music of Frank Sinatra’s ‘Cheek to Cheek.’
Plans for the musical sequel to the 2019 DC film were announced a few months ago.
Since then, there was speculation that Lady Gaga would get the role of Joker’s love interest, but nothing was confirmed until now.
The first "Joker" centered around street clown Arthur Fleck and his slow decent into becoming his alter ego.
The role won Pheonix several awards, including the academy award for best actor.
