Woman Accused of Stealing Over $800-worth of Items From Barrie Store

Police are on the hunt for a suspect, after over $800 was swiped from a grocery store’s pharmacy department.

Officers were called to the Food Basics on Essa Rd. on Saturday with reports of a theft. A woman is accused of using a large purse to swipe about $850-worth of over-the-counter medication and ointments, before leaving the store without paying.

She is described as:

  • Middle Eastern
  • 30’s or 40’s
  • Approximately 5’2
  • Slim build.
  • Waring black heel boots with a long ankle-length leopard print dress, and a dark blue hijab with glasses on her head.
