Patience paid off for a Barrie man who has been playing the lottery once a week since turning 18.
42-year-old Philip Henry won a $100,000 top prize playing an Instant Bingo Double ticket.
"I was in pure shock when I saw that I had won. I had it tough growing up, so this amount is going to be life-changing."
He purchased the ticket at the Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Bayfield Street in Barrie and played it while waiting at the bus stop.
Winning, says Henry, has been an overwhelming feeling.
"I have a lot of emotions running through my mind. I can't describe how I feel right now."
He plans to save and invest his winnings.
