New temporary light installation in downtown Barrie

Cycle has been installed in Meridian Place

News release – from City of Barrie

A new interactive light installation, Cycle, has been installed in Meridian Place. Cycle will be on display until January 18, 2022, with hours of operation from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Inspired by the revolutions of the sun and the moon, Cycle is an installation that illuminates open space. As an interactive light piece, Cycle comes to life with the rhythm of human interaction and evokes the halo effect of an eclipse through light animation, intensity, colour and sound.

The City reminds visitors to the installation to wear a mask and stay two metres away from anyone not in their household.

The installation is generously sponsored in part by Alectra.
