LINX Transit expands with route between Alliston and Bradford

A sixth route connecting north Simcoe County coming this Fall

Getting around Simcoe County gets easier today

LINX transit has rolled out Route 5 service between Alliston and Bradford. The route includes three stops in Alliston; two stops in Beeton; a stop in Bond Head and three stops in Bradford. For more information, visit the Routes and Schedules page.

“The launch of Route 5 connecting Alliston to Bradford West Gwillimbury is another important step towards linking our residents to important service and business hubs throughout Simcoe County,” said Warden George Cornell. “It is exciting to now provide this vital service to our residents in south Simcoe County, where growing populations and an increasing number of students and workers are seeking affordable, reliable and environmentally responsible transportation options.”

Ridership on the new route is free until September 8, with regular fare rates starting after Labour Day. (The free fare is not applicable to routes 1 through 4). Fares are determined by zones and are either $2 or $4 depending on zones travelled along Route 5.

A Route 6 will be introduced this fall connecting the communities of Penetanguishene, Midland, Tay, Severn and Orillia.
