Local push to find missing Scarborough man after his motorcycle was found in Minden Hills

55-year-old Robert Smith was last seen Wednesday

UPDATE: Police confirmed on July 27 that the body of Robert Smith has been located. Foul play is not suspected.

July 24 – There’s a local effort to find a man from the GTA after his motorcycle was found in Minden Hills.

The Toronto Police Service is trying to find 55-year-old Robert Smith of Scarborough who was last seen in the Minden area on Wednesday. The OPP found his motorcycle in an overflow parking lot off Horseshoe Lake Road, but no signs of Smith himself.

Smith is described as:

  • 5’11”, 170lbs
  • Brown hair, unshaven and glasses 
  • Last seen wearing a leather jacket, blue jeans, and black boots

OPP including the Canine Unit and Aviation Services are searching the area and the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and Marine patrols were expected to join in the search by Friday afternoon.
