Provincial police have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect following an assault in Wasaga Beach.
Around 10:20 Saturday morning, police responded to a 9-1-1 call at an address on Cedar Grove Parkway where they found a person inside the residence suffering from serious injuries. The individual was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.
An arrest warrant has been issued for 39-year-old Gary Costa of Toronto who stands to be charged with the following:
· Assault with a weapon
· Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
· Breach of Recognizance
· Assault causing bodily harm
· Assault cause bodily harm - choke, suffocate or strangle
· Mischief - destroy or damages property
· Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm
Police say anyone with information on Costa's whereabouts is urged to not approach him and call 911 immediately.
There is believed to be no public safety risk, as investigators do not consider this to be a random incident.
