
A man has been charged with impaired driving by OPP after he was involved in a collision with an e-bike Tuesday in Collingwood.
Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP responded to a collision on Findlay Road at 9:07 p.m. There, officers found an electric bicycle that had struck a tree.
EMS attended and transported the male to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, police began investigating the man for impaired driving, and later arrested him.

After the arrest, police obtained breath samples of 180 and 170 milligrams of alcohol from the man. That's more than twice the legal limit per 100 millilitres of blood.
The male was given two charges under the Criminal Code of Canada as a result of the investigation.
320.14(1): Everyone commits an offence who
(a) operates a conveyance while the person’s ability to operate it is impaired to any degree by alcohol or a drug or by a combination of alcohol and a drug;
(b) has, within two hours after ceasing to operate a conveyance, a blood alcohol concentration that is equal to or exceeds 80 mg of alcohol in 100 mL of blood;
The man was released from custody and will appear in a Collingwood court in August. His driver's licence was also suspended for 90 days.
