A man is dead after he went through the ice on Lake of Bays near Baxter Lane in Algonquin Highlands Township, located in Haliburton County.
On Saturday, Huntsville OPP say witnesses alerted them that a man had been out on the ice retrieving stakes and was found floating in the water. The man was brought to shore, and lifesaving measures were performed until paramedics arrived.
Police say the 59-year-old from Milton could not be revived and was pronounced deceased.
