
A man found in medical distress by Barrie Police is facing theft and property crime charges after police discovered he had stolen personal items from vehicles in the area.
Just before 8 a.m. Tuesday, Barrie Fire and Emergency Services attended to a 36‑year‑old man in medical distress near Ardagh Road.
Upon being notified, Barrie Police arrived to find the man in possession of credit cards, debit cards, and personal identification belonging to two other individuals.

Further investigation revealed he had also entered an unlocked vehicle nearby and taken a quantity of loose change. Authorities believe the man, who was transported to a local hospital, gained access to several unattended vehicles and helped himself to valuables.
In the early afternoon, Barrie Police took the man into custody at the hospital. He faces four charges including two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
He was released and is scheduled to appear in Barrie court next month.
