A 35-year-old man was back in handcuffs the same day he was released on probation.

Police said there was a theft at an LCBO in the south end of Barrie last week. A suspect was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000.

Upon being taken into custody, police learned the accused had been in court on other matters and had been released on probation a few hours earlier.

As a result, he was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
