A trio of construction workers kept a man at bay after Barrie police say he was spotted in a car that did not belong to him.
Officers responded to a Drury Lane home just before 11:15 on Monday morning after receiving a report of a man with a knife.
"Upon arrival, officers learned that an unknown male was observed in a car that did not belong to him, and when three nearby construction workers saw him enter the car, they approached the owner who advised them that he had no business being in her car," police said in a news release.
The workers kept the man in the car until police arrived and he was taken into custody.
A 45-year-old of no fixed address has been charged with the following:
- possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- assault with a weapon (x 3)
- fail to comply with a probation order
He was remanded in custody and is to appear by video for a bail hearing on Wednesday.
