Mattel is heavy into the movie business, especially after the phenomenal success of the "Barbie " movie.
They aren't stopping at the doll, with plans for many more movies based on their other toys.
Several action films are already in development, including "Barney" which is in partnership with Daniel Kaluuya's production company, 59%.
Kevin McKeon of Mattel Films said the movie would lean into "millenial angst" and explore the "trials and tribulations of being thirty-something, growing up with Barney.
