Help RVH’s smallest patients at McHappy Day 2021!

Buy some food and support the RVH's NICU!

With a portion of every purchase going to support the Ronald McDonald House Charity and the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation, McHappy Day is the perfect time to order a few of your favourites and treat yourself to some McDonald’s!

When sickness occurs, especially in children, the last thing anyone needs to worry about is out-of-pocket costs for things like accommodations, meals, and travel. The RMHC supports over 26,000 families every single year while their child is healing in a nearby hospital, making it easier for families to be together in tough times. Ontario is home to 5 Ronald McDonald Houses, 12 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, supports over 14,000 families, and saves them over $21 million annually.

“We are so awed and grateful by the support from McDonald’s customers and our local community on McHappy Day,” said Annette Godsell, Executive Director RMHC NL “Every dollar raised will help us keep families with a sick child close – close to one another and close to the care their child needs. This means that families staying with us can have a little bit of normalcy when they are going through a truly difficult time. We could not be there for our families without your support — thank you!”

McHappy Day not only supports the RMHC but also raises money for other amazing local charities, one of which is the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation and its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. As a regional Level 2C NICU, RVH provides exceptional care for babies who require a higher level of care. They are able to support babies born at 30 weeks gestation or greater. With the money raised from McHappy Day, RVH will be able to upgrade and expand this unit to give even better care to those who need it most. “The smallest customers we have are those who reside in the Neonatal Care Unit and with the community, we can help them out,” said Trevor Mckee a local McDonalds Owner and Operator.

On September 22, head to your favourite McDonalds location and a portion of every menu item will be donated to these wonderful charities. If you can’t make it out, don’t worry because we have some more good news. For McHappy Day, you can order delivery through Uber Eats, Skip The Dishes, or Door Dash and all orders over $12 will get free delivery!

“We have a long history with RVH and this is our fifth year helping in this area,” said Jason O’Neil another local McDonalds Owner and Operator. “It’s very important for our team members to know that we’re giving back to the community, growing those relationships, and being part of the happiest day of the year.”
