Mid-Pen Transit to temporarily suspend Saturday service beginning April 25

There has been a decreased demand for service on Saturdays

The wheels on the buses at Mid-Pen Transit will stop going round and round with Saturday service to be temporarily suspended, beginning on April 25. This suspension will last through the May long weekend, meaning there will be no Saturday service on April 25, May 2, May 9 or May 16.

“Due to decreased demand for service on Saturdays, we have made the decision to temporarily suspend service on those days,” said Shawn Berriault, Director of Community Services. “By taking this action, we are providing our transit operators with an extra day off each week for their health and well-being, and by doing so, ensuring that the service can continue during weekdays for the foreseeable future.”

Mid-Pen Transit service will remain free for riders, and continue to operate Monday to Friday, using the “Saturday” schedule, until at least May 19. Riders are asked to board and deboard using the rear doors when it is an option, to maintain physical distance from transit operators. Riders with disabilities may still use the front door if needed.
