Midland driver charged with impaired, arrested after nap

Southern Georgian Bay OPP has charged and arrested a Midland driver with impaired after he was found to be intoxicated in a parked car.

While patrolling at around 1:07 p.m. on Friday, police say they noticed an illegally parked vehicle in a lot on County Road 93 in Midland.

Authorities say the person behind the wheel appeared to be asleep.

After further investigation, OPP says they arrested the 25-year-old and charged them with the following:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and given an April 18th court date.

The driver was given a 90-day licence suspension, and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
