More layoffs expected at Netflix by the end of the week

Another round of layoffs is coming to Netflix as the streaming giant tries to cut costs.

Last month 150 employees and dozens of contractors were let go.

Reports say the latest series of cuts will be similar in size.

Netflix shares plummeted in the spring when they announced they lost 200 thousand subscribers.

Increased competition from other services is one reason for the loss.

According to Variety, shares of Netflix were trading north of $600 in January, but today, they hover at roughly $175 a share.

The company employs 11,000 people globally.
