Mother Charged Following Toddler’s Drowning Death in Grand River
Child Swept Away By Fast Moving Waters after Minivan Failed To Heed Road Closed Signs
A mother has been charged after her toddler son was lost to the Grand River.
The OPP say a minivan failed to stop at Road Closed signs on 10th Line of Amaranth, around 1:00 on the morning of Feburary 21st. The vehicle was pulled into the Grand River, while three-year-old Kaden Young was lost in the fast flowing water.
His body was recovered in late April.
The OPP have since charged his mother, a 35-year-old woman, with Impaired Driving Causing Death, Dangerous Driving Causing Death, and Criminal Negligence Causing Death. She is expected to appear in Orangeville court in early November.
