A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash in Washago.
Around 8:45 Wednesday night, provincial police responded to Muskoka Street following reports of a motorcycle collision. When they arrived, police found a man lying in the middle of the road. Orillia firefighters and County of Simcoe paramedics were already on scene providing lifesaving measures, police said.
According to investigators, the motorcycle was southbound on Muskoka Street and appeared to have lost control after entering the shoulder of the road. The bike slid some distance before coming to rest on the northbound shoulder.
The driver, a 57-year-old from Washago, was transported to the hospital in Orillia and then airlifted to a trauma centre in Toronto.
Anyone who witnessed or has dashcam footage of the crash, or has not spoken with police, is asked to contact the Orillia OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
