Motorist veering into oncoming traffic in Essa charged with impaired driving

Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 44-year-old from Toronto after they responded to traffic complaints around 7 p.m. on Monday about a car eastbound on County Road 21 in Essa Township that was veering into oncoming traffic, driving onto the shoulder, and stopping in a live lane of traffic.

Police located the vehicle a short time later.

The driver was charged with impaired driving, driving while under suspension, having care or control of a vehicle with liquor readily available, having care or control of a vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available, and failing to notify a change of address on their licence.

The accused was released with a future court date in Bradford.
