Motorists Urged To Drive To Conditions Following Chain Reaction Collisions

Weather played havoc across the highways and biways of Simcoe County Wednesday afternoon, least of all the 400.

Lanes of the 400 were shut down shortly after 2:00, following a slew of collisions caused by overzealous driving. It’s reported that a multi-vehicle crash that shut down all lanes at Innisfil Beach Road happened as police tried to clear an earlier collision. It’s said that one crash was in the process of being cleared, when other vehicles slid on the slippery highway, with up to seven vehicles involved.

 The 400 wasn’t the only highway plagued with crashes as the weather turned sour; emergency responders are being kept busy throughout the snowfall, while no serious injuries have thus far been reported.

Officers have been responding to a steady stream of collisions today mainly involving single vehicle, loss of control crashes with minor injuries.
