Multiple charges laid against Orillia man after reported 'disturbance' in Brechin

An Orillia man is facing multiple charges after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they responded to a "disturbance" around 9:15 Thursday night in Brechin.

Police say they were told a man was leaving a home impaired after allegedly assaulting and threatening another person.

"Shortly after, officers located the vehicle and suspect on Highway 12 near Muley Point Road," according to an OPP media release. "Officers quickly determined the driver was impaired. placing him under arrest."

A 50-year-old was charged with impaired driving, assault, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and two counts mischief over $5,000.

The accused has a court date in April.

The man's licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
