The City of Barrie welcomes the 2024 National Slo-Pitch Championships August 2 to 5, 2024, at the Barrie Community Sports Complex. The event is being hosted by the Ontario Region of Slo-Pitch National in partnership with the City of Barrie as the host venue.
“We are excited to host the National Slo-Pitch Championships in Barrie and have the opportunity to welcome participating athletes from across Canada,” said Mayor Alex Nuttall. “Our city invites participants, their families, supporters, and baseball enthusiasts to enjoy all the wonderful businesses, restaurants, and outdoor amenities that Barrie has to offer.”
The National Slo-Pitch Championships are hosted every August long weekend at locations across Canada. The 2024 event marks the 35th anniversary of the National Slo-Pitch Championships. Over 1,000 athletes from 58 teams,152 coaches, and 36 umpires will be attending the four-day event.
The facilities at the Barrie Community Sports Complex were a factor in the city being selected to host for the first time. The complex, located at 2100 Nursery Road in Springwater, Ontario, is a 118-acre venue with ball diamonds, turf fields, and three amenity buildings, including Vintage Throne Stadium, home of the Barrie Baycats.
The event is funded in part by the Government of Ontario.
