It’s slow, and creepy, and you may not sleep for days after watching the trailer for a new series about Jeffrey Dahmer.

“Dahmer ― Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” is a 10-episode series that premiers on Netflix this week and stars Evan Peters from American Horror Story.

Over the years, there’s been countless movies, books, and documentaries about the serial killer who killed 17 men and boys from 1978 to 1991.

However, this story is from the point of view of Dahmer’s victims and the people who lived around him during his reign of terror.

It shows how he could get away with it for so long by maintaining his clean-cut image while many people knew he was disturbed.

The trailer shows his neighbour Glenda Cleveland, played by Niecy Nash, and their terrifying conversation in her apartment.

“The smells, power tools going at all hours of the night, I hear screaming coming from your apartment.” Nash’s character says.

Peter’s who is no stranger to playing macabre roles, says it was one of the hardest roles he’s ever done.

In a video interview with Netflix, he explained, “It was so jaw-dropping that it all really happened. I wanted it to be very authentic, but in order to do that, I was going to have to go to really dark places and stay there for an extended period of time.”

“We had one rule going into this” Peter’s explains “and that’s that it would never be told from Dahmer’s point of view. As an audience you’re not sympathizing with him, you’re watching it from the outside.”

It premiers September 21.

Check out the trailer, but don’t eat anything while watching.
