A new link between Orillia and Barrie is expected to hit the road early next month.
Out of Orillia council Monday night, a vote to tentatively approve a bus line between the two points, linking the transit systems of both Barrie and Orillia.
Using the existing county transit system LINX, with stops in Orillia at the Georgian Campus, OPP HQ, and Lakehead U, making three stops along the way to Barrie’s RVH and the nearby Georgian College campus. From there, folks could grab in town transit to complete the journey.
This builds on an existing Simcoe County LINX system, that premiered with a route joining Barrie to Midland and Penetanguishene in the Spring of 2018. Further connections between Barrie and the Collingwood area are expected.
