No visitors at RVH once province-wide lockdown kicks in on Boxing Day

Exceptions made for children, soon-to-be moms and on compassionate grounds

As soon as the province goes into lockdown, Barrie’s Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) will put visitor restrictions in place.

As a means of keeping patients, staff, and physicians safe, there will be no visitors permitted at RVH as of 12:01 a.m. on December 26.

There are minor exceptions in place, including one adult at a time for children under age 18 in the Pediatrics/Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. One support person will be permitted with a labouring mother and while in the Obstetrics or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Exceptions will also be made on compassionate grounds as determined by health care experts at the hospital.

Any visits that were pre-booked to occur after December 25h will be cancelled.
